I mean, now you're just willfully ignoring their dates. There's at least one when they were still in a Tokyo, with a winter setting and them bickering about old temple decorations. After they left, there's plenty of scenes with the others catching them strolling around with just the two of them. Believe whatever you like about the underage sex, but the author drew those scenes for a reason, and they get along perfectly fine even from the very start as long as no one else is around.
