This whole arc was a complete mess so I get it. I personally don't like the idea of The Doctor turning out to be super special "because (super-powered) reasons" and have disliked the modern show heading that way for long before now.

Also I agree with the sentiment that nobody knows wtf to do with Gallifrey or straight up can't be bothered. I wish they'd leave it alone if all it serves is a connection to the classic series just to remind us it's there, only for the latest show runner to decide it needs to be blown up anyway.
