I actually agree with the sentiment, but there's a chance of people taking "stop giggling and squeeing, gtfo" as elitism rather than employee frustration.

Then--and the frustration in tone in this isn't directed at you, but rude fans--they need to grow up and work in retail and see what it's like from the other side, seriously. It's extremely frustrating to be looked down upon because "oh, you watch anime" because immature fans paint us all with this sort of brush. There's nothing wrong with being excited about what you like and having fun with your friends, but when you're flopping down in front of shelves, blocking traffic from people that just want to shop, and generally being impolite, it's time to start thinking about how you're affecting other people's fun.

Really, I don't think it's elitist to ask someone to be polite. I think it's bad that the OP assumes we're ALL like that, but I can't really blame her when the noticeable ones are.

Yeah, pretty much agreed. That's why a lot of bookstores have random chairs...at least the big Barnes&Noble on the highway near me does, not sure about any other locations, lol. But anyway, if fans want somewhere to squee and giggle, the chairs are a better option.

It's not just the one near you, I've been in several in different states and they're all like that. XD Border's does, too, and even the independent bookstores I've been in normally have places to sit and browse. And a lot of them even have coffee shops with tables and chairs you can sit in and chat. So yeah, that'd be a much better place to sit and talk than the manga aisle.
