152. Okay, you're not a pretentious snob, but you're a bit of an assuming jerk. Not everyone who likes anime and manga = the idiots who stand around in the bookstore shrieking and giggling and using fanbrat Japanese. I used to work at a goddamn big-name bookstore chain too, and the shrieky annoying kids in that section annoyed the fuck outta me, too. Luckily they didn't come by that often, and we could kick them out if they were disturbing other people.
155. Unfortunately, by this point, what it boils down to is a ton of people going "OMG HOW CAN YOU LIKE THE BOOKS YOU'RE STUPID AND IMMATURE AND HAVE NO TASTE AND WE NEED TO REDEEM PEOPLE!" And then the people who actually LIKE the book respond to that. And then the people who hate the book respond to that. Or you get the fanbrats who think it's the best thing ever written and if you don't like it you're stupid and have bad taste, etc etc etc, and the people who dislike the book respond to that, ETC AND FOREVER. :| People in the middle are sick of it and couldn't care less, but as long as either side of the batshittery exists, the lovers and the haters (even the sane ones!) will feed off each other.

162. D: I do NOT get all the hate for that book! I had to read it in English class and no one else liked the book. I freakin' loved it. ): What is up, people?
164. Um... everyone can have problems. That's what makes people people. Anyone who says otherwise is forgetting a major point about what human beings are.

172. But at what point do you get to decide where a 'verse should end? Using anime for an example, Serial Experiments: Lain was perfect the way it was. Ghost in the Shell is epic and amazing with two seasons and three movies (so far). Yu Yu Hakusho is still one of my favorite series AND the longest series I have ever seen, at 112 episodes and two movies! A fic can be amazing with only five chapters, and suck at reaching 20, but you can also have sucky fics that are only a chapter long and amazing stories with tons of different "chapters" all set in the same verse. If you're starting to hate it, it's probably not just the length that's the problem, just the writing doesn't resonate with you anymore.
not!secret: Yes. :P NO I'M KIDDING I'm just not into Dragon Ball or any of the subsequent series, myself. I hope you enjoy the movie!
