Re: Question About Trick-or-Treating

depending on how festive the folks in your apartment building are, people sometimes sit in their doorways to hand candy out to kids who just move around the complex instead of roaming the streets of suburbia.

also in recent year, in think in efforts toward safety mostly, there have been a lot of alternatives to door-to-door trick-or-treating. a lot of elementary schools will host events where kids can go around little booths in the cafeteria or around the field picking up candy the way they would for neighbors. one variant with a cute nickname i heard about last year was "trunk-or-treat" where kids would go around the parking lot getting candy from teachers and older students who set up decorated stations out of the trunks of their cars.

a lot of places will also host community party type things where kids can come show off their costume, play cheesy halloween themed games and get candy. a project i did back in college was "boo bash" for students with children to bring their kids and we had a lil haunted house and everything. that was fun haha.
