Ugh, yeah, I feel that. It's one thing if the person in question isn't flooding the fandom tags like crazy all the time (I always sort by most recent and this works for me because my fandom isn't so big that you can't catch up on what's new). But there's this one writer in a fandom I'm in that uploads weird ass shit all. the. time. And I'm very much a "you do your thing I'll do mine" sort of person but it's still annoying. You can't stop yourself from getting annoyed and frustrated when you constantly see something you don't like. So extensions that fix this are much appreciated.

Like, it's all well and good for others to say "just ignore it" and I can if it's only every once in a while. But when you get almost entire pages full of one person's works in the fandom tag(s) and you're making a disgusted face at all of them then it's harder to just ignore it.

...

There should also be a "block any work with more than [x] number of tags/fandom tags" function because IME if there's a wall of tags like that it means the fic is of very poor quality. Especially if it's one of those "multi-fandom request booklets". People, Ao3 is an archive not some Tumblr imagines blog.

a wall of text tags that has 'no beta we die like men' will 100% guarantee that i will not read your likely extremely shitty fic. i don't mind if there's a quick 'i edit my stuff, but plz point out anything obvs if it's there' note as i don't expect everyone to have a beta these days. but that tag? nope. that tells me you're quite happy and proud about your work not being properly checked, and that gives me no confidence about it's quality.

Exactly. I often post things unbeta'd (like smut I'm too ashamed to get feedback on lol) but I don't *advertise* it hasn't been checked.

I've been reading a fic where the author is super sweet and in her notes lets us know that any errors are on her part -- unbetaed. But I don't think she tagged.

Oh man I wish I could filter out anything with more than five fandoms tagged. Like I get that it makes sense to put all your little crossovers and drabbles and shit into one thing for tidyness' sake, but goddamn is it tedious to scroll past.

They usually don't even have that much content in the "booklet" or whatever they call it. It'll be a one-shot or drabble for one fandom and then all the other fandoms and characters tagged don't have any content and won't ever get any so it's just sitting in a fandom's tag despite not actually having anything in it for that fandom. If they're going to do one of those things at least edit the tags as they add stuff so it has what it says it has in it.

But, yeah, sorry to say those sorts of works are usually a red-flag the writing is shit or it isn't writing at all but a "head canon" dump where the person just gets away with non-writing by making bulleted lists. Like, I'm all for sharing headcanons but it's getting to the point people think it's the same as actually writing a one-shot or drabble or something and it's not. It's at most an outline for a fic. They're annoying and yes I'm salty about it because I want actual content for my fandoms.
