I like *some* unconventional fic formats - one of my favourite fics for Vikings is an article about an archaeological dig uncovering some of the canon characters' stuff. And I like some of the social media fic I've read. I read a good one the other day that was a series of reddit posts, which involved some pretty tricky formatting; and Unpretty's fics with various internet randos talking about Bruce Wayne are all fun.
And then we have chatlog fic, and that's usually... not great...
