Infidelity is a HUGE turn-off for me (and yeah, struggling with the question of whether or not to cheat is still gross), with one caveat-- If a closeted character is married to someone of the opposite sex, in something that's set during a period where they may have had to have done for their own safety, then I'm a lot more sympathetic. But those are always cases where that character hasn't really made an emotional commitment, just a social or political alliance. Any time someone is in a relationship-- married or not-- where they are emotionally invested and sexually compatible with their partner, I just hate cheating storylines.

This is a very very very human nature thing that most humans in longterm relationships (decades) experience. Temptation is completely normal and common. I just don't agree that it's gross. At all. It's almost universal.

Bad people succumb to the temptation. Good people resist it.

Not feeling the temptation at all ever over decades is so rare it's statistically nonexistent.
