Hey, someone remind me, when did Crimes of Grindelwald - the least bit of Harry Potter canon that Dumbledore appeared in - come out? Oh wait, I'm on the internet, I can look that up myself.

2018

I also think that JKR - being a literal billionaire - has more say in what gets included in a story than people making a show for Nickolodeon do but what do I know

Was repealed in 2000

(Anonymous) 2020-05-14 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
2003, after the first five books were published.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-14 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
and before the 6th and 7th, when it would have made the most sense to bring it in anyway

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
And didn't have any enforcement power over Scholastic anyway.

Irrelevant to fiction. You think no gay lit or gay-friendly lit appeared in that period? Boy have I a surprise for you.

/if you are British - I seriously doubt it.

Do link me to all this textually gay children's lit of the early 2000s.

Nayrt but I just thought of "Heather Has Two Mummies" right off the top of my head. No effort needed. And that was published in 19-goddamn-89, and has been on shelves since.

Exactly!

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
So Nickelodeon forced them to give both Korra and Asami male love interests?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
One, I wasn't there

Two, I don't see how it's relevant

and three, I don't think that would be an unusual or surprising thing for Nickelodeon to do

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Do you find that somehow difficult to imagine?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Love interest*, singular.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-14 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
And? Did you miss the mirror scene?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-14 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I just don't think it matters a single fucking bit.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-15 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
DA god, same
