I would like it if there was just one tag for that and not various ways of saying it for ease of filtering.

I enjoy character bashing fic sometimes. If a character has really annoyed me, or the majority of the fandom has made them too precious and perfect, I will look for the bashing fic just for something different.

tbh I enjoy seeking out Dumbledore bashing fic. Now, canonly, I do believe he was a good man who made bad choices, but I love the bashing fic because they're usually a lot more willing to look at all the ways those choices of his could have impacted the series a lot worse.

I'm also just super keen on Trusted Mentor Was Evil All Along as a trope though and I admit that.

see, for me I can't deal with people who are either super pro- or super anti- Dumbledore.

I mean, I'm with you on seeing him as a good man who made bad choices-- he made a LOT of bad choices, was deeply flawed, and caused a lot of pain to people in his care. So a lot of the 'I love my dead gay headmaster' stuff like... just feels really flat and hollow once we know the extent of his faults. But then there are people who are just really keen to say he was EVIL and therefore every single thing about him is BAD and the good things he said or did are SECRETLY SINISTER, and just...

No. He was in a series of difficult situations, he made the best decisions he could under the pressure he was under with the information that they had, and they were often the WRONG ones, not because he was malicious, but because he was working on the fly, in a war, weighing consequences a school headmaster shouldn't be tasked with weighing about the lives and deaths of children... and struggling with his own lifelong trauma. Some of his mistakes are indefensible, but he as a person is not.

But I don't look to the HP fandom for a lot of nuance tbh, so it tends to come down to choosing between Dumbledore Did Nothing Wrong or Dumbledore Is The Real Monster. (and no shame in loving that good Trusted Mentor Was Evil All Along trope!)
