There was a group of people that tested positive for COVID19 that ran around for a couple days in my country, and the only local transmission tracked down from that group is from a gym.

Even without proving it, just imagining people sweating, wiping their faces and then touching shared gym equipment...And masks aren't even 100% protection, but how many people can actually exercise properly with a mask on and the inability to breathe in as much oxygen as normal?

yeah you can't. I tried briefly once, this past week, now that it's finally warm enough to go outside. you just can't breathe heavily in a mask. exercise *needs* to be done away from other people or where you risk touching equipment, there's no alternative.
