And another rant about my dad, because he's just excelling at being clueless and self-centered lately. So he sends these monthly email updates to all their friends and supporters (parents were/are missionaries). Sometimes he forgets that this is his email, not the whole family's and over-shares about one of the rest of us.

I'm on the email list too, so I get the email when he sends it (I like to know what he's saying about me mostly). Today I got the email and on it he told everyone I'd been diagnosed with bladder stones.

What the fuck, dad? How was that obviously not the kind of diagnosis that should have been kept private? Why couldn't you have just said I had some pain, saw a doctor, and was being treated? How could you not even just run it by me before posting.

Really pissed off right now.

I don't blame you. My parents are always spilling their guts about my personal problems to their friends. I don't even know some of their friends. They have never respected my privacy.

This is exactly my issue. I don't know all these people. And some of them I do know, but not well, and I'm just not comfortable with them knowing explicit medical details about me. These are people I might actually see at some point, so the idea of them knowing this weirds me out.
