Who would have thought that the MAIN CHARACTERS who have a VERY DEEP AND CLOSE CONNECTION in the story would get a lot of content made for them and be shipped together and have a lot of depth in canon that can be explored and worked with in fan content. Who would have thunk they'd be the most popular ship? This just...it came out of nowhere! It can't be because they're the main characters and have a lot of chemistry...it has to be.......hnnnnnngh cause they're white. And male.

Yep can't possibly be that they have the longest history together. A whole 6000 years that gives fans tons of time periods to play in. That their emotional journey is the core of the story. Nope has to be because white and male. And given that Crowley presents as female twice in the show I'm not even giving them the male part.
