(Anonymous) 2020-05-17 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)Like, I would never write character bashing fic-- doesn't interest me. But, I do write fic that addresses when a character does something shitty, or has a pattern of behavior that hurts others. I don't use 'not (x) friendly' tags, because tbh if a character behaves that way in canon and fans can't deal with that, we probably move in different circles anyway. But I do see people woobify enough abusive characters that I can get wanting to let them know up front that a fic is maybe not for you if you want fluff where that character does nothing wrong, but might be for you if you like that character and WANT an exploration of their canon-typical behavior where they aren't given an easy excuse/redemption-- you might not want to see them bashed but want them to face consequences for the kind of actions it's IC for them to take.
