I don't get it either. I'm a native English speaker and subtitles don't bother me. My head does this weird thing where it 'hears' the characters speaking the words I'm reading. I'm not a pampered American though so maybe that's the difference.

That's really the only reason you can think of why someone might not be into subtitles huh

Anon never said that was the only reason other people didn't like subtitles just that they don't have an issue with them.

Me too. I've always found it the weirdest thing that I barely even 'see' the subtitles and instead 'hear' the written words as the characters voices. It's fun to know that I'm not the only one who experiences foreign films/TV like that.

Never has reading the subtitles lead to me missing anything visual on the screen either.
