I'm fine with this trope unless it's combined with Pair The Spares And They All Had Kids. Then it becomes Squick with a capital 'S'. (See: Naruto)

Ugh, yes. Some characters/ships I can see having kids while others...not so much. And it's such a weird way of "tying up loose ends" when ALL of the cast gets matched up and has one or two children who look like a copy of either one of them or a perfect mix of both their features AND fashion sense.

As a married woman who isn't bothered about having kids, I agree with you. It's a common enough experience that kids will happen sometimes and I accept that, even expect it, in fiction sometimes.

But "everyone has kids"? That's an instant turn to ick for me. Especially if it's done in the way of Character A has a really successful fulfilling life but turns out ONE thing is missing - romance and babies! Along comes Character B...and then Character A gets married to Character B (after shit loads of hilarious misunderstandings) and then has all the babies and forgets about the other fulfilling parts of their life. Because obviously that's the only way to be happy. The reason this pisses me off? Character A is ALWAYS a woman.

I have far too much resentment towards people trying to pressure me to have kids, I think. XD I'm like, "NO! YOU DON'T NEED TO CHECK THAT BOX TO BE HAPPY!"
