You're literally what the first secret today is talking about, lol. Why does it have to be perfect? Why does it have to be "non-problematic" at all? Gay creators should be supported because gay creators should be supported, period-- the more gay voices in the ether, the better. Same with creators of color, trans creators, anyone that isn't just a straight white guy. It doesn't have to be amazing. It just has to exist. And then we can work our way up to amazing as more and more things exist.

Plus, no one's going to agree on what's good. I could point you in the direction of She-Ra: Princesses of Power as an example of truly fucking amazing queer content, but a million people could very well jump down my throat saying NO, IT'S SHIT AND IT'S PROBLEMATIC FOR [X, Y, Z] REASONS. And like... I don't care. If a piece of queer media resonates with someone, it has enough "worth" right there.

Anyway, yes. Support gay creators always.

Not really. I'm not talking about relationships I don't like or imperfect representation. I'm talking more like... a story set in modern times with multiple dead gays and a dash of predatory gay man and the slut gets HIV tropes. It was very all gays are doomed.

It was like an old timey Pastor's warning sermon of reasons to repent and go straight.

I hope the creator gets help. Honestly. It was just not a nice experience. I support him to get support. Mental health support.

LOL, there are in fact people doing that with She-Ra. It's shit and problematic because f/f representation is easier to get on kids shows than m/m because women are seen as nonsexual and even when they kiss on the lips homophobes can say "But that doesn't mean they're gay! Gal pals kiss each other like that all the time!" and f/f is also inherently male gazey and... and... you get the idea.

Agreed. While everyone is losing their head over Catadora, we have the adult lesbian couple arguing about cooking and smooching where it's perfectly reasonable for a married couple to do so.
