As much as I hate saying it, I agree with you. Rodney is and probably always will be my favorite character but it has become clear that the writers only care about writing for Rodney at his point. All plot lines have been shoved to the side so Rodney can get the girl. The other characters have nothing compared to him. I'm actually glad the show is ending because enough is enough.

WORD. I miss all the other characters.

The worst part is I used to be one of those who defended the show the loudest when all the changes were happening at the end of season three - I was one of those who said the writers should be given the chance to do better. I LOVED season four and thought it was their best season yet so I've been doubly disappointed with this season. I KNOW they can do better than this - they're just choosing not to because they love their Rodney so who cares about anything else...

*Le sigh* I can understand where you're coming from. He's my favourite character, but I hardly recognise him this series and I HATE the way everyone else (especially John) has been pushed aside for the McKeller show. I'd particularly like to poke Gero with a pointy stick.

Poking Gero with a pointy stick could be a special event in the 2010 Winter Olympics!

Uh, I'm failing to see how Rodney getting so much screen time is him being a different character. He's the same person he's always been (and if you want to point out he's 'different' with Keller, then yea, he is, but he was different with Katie too, so that's nothing new), they've just put him in a relationship (a shitty relationship that doesn't work, but a relationship non the less) that's at this point taken over the show. I don't like it either, but I don't see how this should make anyone hate Rodney. (Or blame the lack of plots and such for other characters on him.)

God, I feel BAD for the guy - he shouldn't have to go through this shit just because the writers wish they could get the girl, too.

First - I am not saying Rodney is different this season - I'm saying I'm tired of the fact that HE gets all of the story lines while everyone else and all other plot lines is shoved to the side. I know it's no different than it ever has been - I'm just fed up with it and glad that the show is over because now it will end.

Second - I don't hate Mckay the person I hate the way Mckay is being written. I KNOW he's a fictional character - do you? You're the one acting like my frustration with how he's written is hurting him with your "poor Mckay" talk.

totally agree with this....everyone else, including Sheppard, has been pushed to the side for McKeller, as last week's episode indicates, you almost forget that Teyla is still on Atlantis anymore. I would also like to poke Gero with a sharp pointy thing, it is so clear you can't write romance so STOP IT!
