I think the whole idea of making countries anthropomorphic so that you can ship them at all in any shape or form is stupid and insulting.

And you're entitled to that opinion, although personally I have a weak spot for anthropomorphic personifications (although I don't read Hetalia; something about the art style rubs me the wrong way).

What I don't get is why the secret goes "Making countries gay?" instead of, for example, "Shipping countries?"

But that's me, actually caring about the implications of wording in fandomsecrets lolololol.

I'm not saying you don't make a good point, but don't we kind of talk about countries as a whole being as it is? The artist just took it one step further by actually drawing them.

I wish I could say 'IT'S NOT ABOUT SHIPPING' but apparently now Germany/Italy is some kind of 'canon' and I'm horrendously ashamed. D=
