Sorry? When there's zero context for a statement from a creator, especially if they're going as far as discussing characters' preferences in sex, that seems to me to be confirming that at least said characters are having sex. Without more context (which OP didn't provide and I'm not enough into that fandom to be aware of it myself) I don't think it's unreasonable to take it at face value?

Because there seems to be a pandemic of creators using minimal-effort publicity channels to make up for a failure to commit real money and labor into LGBTQ representation. If it's important enough to explain on the publicity circuit, then it should be important enough to write, finance, storyboard, schedule, block, rehearse, film, and edit. I want for studios to make real investments with real money on LGBTQ characters.

The hands of gods (screenwriters, actors, gaffers, caterers, production interns, etc.) are more important to me than the word of god. Talking about about doing it but failing to commit to doing it doesn't mean much these days.

That, and publicity talks are about publicity and creators seem to love playing to fandom for publicity these days. It doesn't mean that any of those ideas are actually reflected in what was produced/released.

Oh, I totally agree with you. I was initially just kind of confused because I didn't think it had been confirmed before, and although I'll believe it when a creator confirms some kind of LGBT+ theory or content or whatever, I'm absolutely not going to praise them for it as some kind of great representation or anything.
