Oh god, yeah. Nothing ruins a fic faster, for me, than constant tense hopping. The worst, for me, is when a fic changes tenses and then doesn't change back for ages, because I can't stop waiting for it to switch back, and I can't stop thinking about how everything I'm reading is in the wrong tense. It's so brutal.
