I used to do that ellipses thing waaaaaaay back in the day. Why? Silly little me thought it was appropriate because the series did that with their text (which is a mild argument for why you don't blindly follow everything in a story... yeah, even the formatting). Thankfully, I realized shortly afterward how unnecessary it was.
