I fucking LOVE this mess of a relationship! I do not want any more set up and clean up or anything. It's so rare to see genuinely straight up dysfunction in action movies end not great because it's dysfunctional (it's always the hero gets the girl or has to leave the girl because HERO BUSINESS or SOCIETY). these two are just not coming at this in any good way and from a mostly selfish perspective. they're wildly fucked up and SURPRISE so is their relationship. They faced similar types of dehumanization and SURPRISE they keep enacting that on each other. i love it.

like Nat to me is clearly working out residual trauma from the red room (And CA:WS which brought up that she was never NOT working for the enemy so to speak) by trying to ironically use the red room techniques on someone who she could not physically in any way overpower or control? and bruce feels like desperately wants a solution to the lack of control and to completely shut down HULK, so he works out this method out with Nat where they treat his alter ego like a literal baby and nat's a literal mom-girlfriend. They're both using each other?! They both find out you can't actually use other people this way and help yourself?! Bruce's alter ego says fuck this shit gets some self-respect (in space but you know whatever)! Nat is far less manipulative to her team mates! The relationship ends with character growth for both of them! It's great.
