Vent thread

Thread for all your vents. Mine is below.

I normally get allergy shots. My allergist opened back up two weeks ago, but I haven't gone for various reasons. My allergist does shots on Mondays and Thursdays. The website said they were open at the usual hours 8 to 4:30. I called to check the hours and the automated system said they were open too (when you select the number for open hours, it is an automated system). So I went today to start back up with my shots. There was a sign on the door saying they were closed because their server was having problems.

So their solution was not to put up on their website that they were closed or on the phone. They have multiple locations, and I called the other location and that one was open and could have updated the website. No, they just put a sign up and felt that was notice enough. Even though today in the day of COVID unnecessary travel is especially unadvised.

Ugh, I have a health vent. So my primary care physician is closed to open visits, which is logical because there might be people with just updates coming in or coming in for things like COVID and exposing other people, etc.

Where it sucks for me is I've had to go into urgent care three times in the last couple weeks because I had something that HAD to be checked out (ear ache, still ear ache, throat ache that ended up being related to ongoing asthma issues). I'm lucky that with my insurance urgent care and primary care is the same price.

That sounds frustrating. I'm sorry you aren't able to see your primary care doctor and are having to go to urgent care. Can you change primary care doctors? I hope your doctor opens soon or you can find someone regular to see.

I can, but this is a general policy by the hospital which most doctors in the region are part of.

Worked yesterday for the first day in a couple months after no sleep, and thought I'd go right to bed when I got home since I was so tired. Couldn't fall asleep for a few hours, then only slept a couple hours once I did, was up almost all night, finally fell asleep again for a few more hours this morning, woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, got a migraine and spent the next several hours miserable, fell back asleep for another couple hours, and luckily when I woke up it was mostly gone. I've now been up awhile and am hungry but still don't feel great and don't feel up to cooking, and I have a couple things that are going to expire soon and it's stressing me out, as dumb as that probably sounds, because I don't have the energy to cook but I don't want to waste food.

I did request a mail in ballot online though which I feel like is a positive thing, at least. Now I just gotta hope I actually receive it and there's no drama.

Having sleep issues right now myself, and they are so frustrating. So sorry you are dealing with that. I really hope you can get some really good sleep the next few nights and catch up on the sleep you have missed. I also hope you get your ballot without any drama.

That sounds really annoying and what a waste of time. Sorry you had to deal with that.

My vent is such a first world problem. I wanted Popeye's today, so I ordered through the app and went to pick it up. There were three people inside and a bunch of flyers saying that only three people were allowed in at a time, so I waited outside. Another person came, asked me if I was waiting, and then stood back to stand on their little sticker. A third person came and did the same thing. Then a fourth person came and just barged right in and cut in front of us. I went inside to tell him that there was a line, but he said we could wait because he just needed to order one little thing. I told him that he still needed to wait behind everyone else and he kept insisting that he didn't. One of the employees came to tell us that we needed to step outside because too many people were inside and he got in the employee's face about how it was too hot to wait outside, so they let him wait inside and told me I needed to step out. I ended up leaving and just requested a refund through the app.

Jerk. Sorry your planned treat was ruined by a selfish jerk. People like that think the universe revolves around them, and unfortunately businesses so often cave to their demands and confirm their beliefs. I hope you get the chance to actually treat yourself soon.

It's me, the anon who was complaining about vision problems! I'm trying the eyedrops I got and I HATE putting stuff in my eyes. It might help a lot with the issues I've been having, and it is a huge relief that I don't need a more invasive treatment + don't have the conditions I was afraid of developing (because of their relatedness to my other chronic health stuff), but my eyes are really sensitive and I've barely been able to put the eyedrops in even one time. Oh well, I guess I'll keep trying?
