I just want to know who all the opposite gender missing parents are of these characters. ESPECIALLY what woman married Dopey!!

(Anonymous) 2020-05-29 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe another dwarf who thought he was hot by dwarf standards?

(Anonymous) 2020-05-29 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
The seven dwarfs married Ariel's sisters according to the wiki, which may or may not be accurate depending on if it is "movie" canon, "book" canon, or "Wicked World" canon.

So um, there you go... mermaids married the dwarfs.

then why doesn't Dopey's kid have a fishtail or at least part of one? maybe he should look like the part dragon woman in the Golden Child?
and I've shipped Jaffar and Maleficent for YEARS but I'm weird.

I ship Jafar and Maleficent too. Then again, they were my two earliest villain crushes and I love villain ships in general.

Fun fact: according to the House of Mouse, several villains had the hots for Maleficent, including Chernabog, Hook, Jafar (who got scorched at least once, apparently), and Hades, who had a whole episode about trying to impress her. Descendants I guess made that last one canon?

because they made them all human.

part of them giving up magic was them giving up their mermaid forms. the fact the good "guys" gave up magic except pretty much fairy godmother (and even she wasn't using it much) is a huge part of the story. And all that magic is locking the villains onto the island.

the kids are taught not to rely on magic at all. That's why in Movie 3 Mal using it to keep up with her new duties is a big deal to Ben.

Serious communication issues in those movies. And Mal always has to be wrong. Annoying.

I've heard so much about these movies, most of which sounded pretty bad but the idea of giving up what makes you special to be "good" sounds really screwed up.

She definitely deserved some sort of reprimand but I do think the movie did a decent job of framing her motivations and TBQH - I would have FELT A WAY if the black girl got jailed for her crimes while the white one didn't because the prince ended up falling for her for real.

I mean, that's a good point, but what Mal did was on a smaller scale/less harmful and also under pressure from an abusive parent, who she then publicly defeated to save everyone, so it's a little different from Audrey doing something more harmful/larger scale solely because she wanted to, you know?

Queen Leah is also abusive and was raised to only prize being a wife. It all happens in under a year so it being something she's upset about makes sense.

tbh I'm just glad what happened to her got addressed at all because I watched the first two movies way late like "wait this whole series is about actions having consequences and atoning for them and not putting it on every generation after them to keep atoning......... but Mal totally did steal that chick's boyfriend without any consequences???"

...Is that the girl from the new Charmed?
