I know what you mean about the news. I'm starting to get sucked into the breaking news cycle bullshit, jumping from social media platform to social media platform. I keep telling myself to knock it off because it's not healthy, especially with both confirmed and unconfirmed things floating around. It'll drive you nuts.

But at the same time, I don't want to remain blissfully ignorant while the world around me (figuratively, but I guess in some cases literally) burns. I need to find that balance, but what I have right now ain't it.

Yup. I don't want to remain ignorant, and I can't both because of what I do and because I have friends who are actively involved (and other friends for whom this is personal and real just because they are black). I've spent the past 3 days actively in the news and doing my best to rebroadcast and share voices on my Facebook. I just need a breather. I'll be working on an asylum case this weekend too, which is bound to be its own difficult stuff to view. So I'm just going to go off Facebook and news sites for the weekend.
