That's true of this thread, but IME, every time this comes up on FS the ire towards writers is crazy off the charts even for people who aren't acting entitled. It's because there's always some asshole *points downthread* who thinks that everyone should be writing for Purity of Their Art and one who doesn't is scum.

I think that's reader entitlement talking there, because if writers were doing it it merely for the Art of it, they wouldn't bother postings their stories at all.
