it's perfectly normal to need interaction to motivate you to write a piece. published authors tend to get that with their editors and agents or fellow authors tho.

but are you actually writing for comments or praise? if its the former then beta readers can provide some of that motivation. if its the latter? you're brave for being willing to risk that type of disappointment at all. i'd feel like whatever i didnt finish was a waste.
