That's not really an excuse though? "I'm old(-fashioned)" isn't a shield against "I keep passively supporting transpobes and keep misgendering trans people, which sends a very unpleasant message about my thoughts about trans people". My parents are JK's age and they're not doing any of this.

She should be better, especially given that 'intolerance because of who someone is isn't acceptable' comes up in her books, but she isn't and it's consistently disappointing to see that she seems to support these views. She sure as hell isn't outright disagreeing with people who ARE openly transphobic, which can be equally telling.
