i'm just so over it honestly. somebody in the hs discord said the other day and i was like bingo:
homestuck was reader hostile
homestuck^2 is fandom hostile

and i think that's the attitude behind hs^2 that's making it hit different than any of the stupid jokes hussie made about fans in the original. i get that the whole Point tm they are going for is "you suckers asked for more when you should have been satisfied w the ending you got!" okay fine, i'll give them that. homestuck def became way bigger than anyone thought it would, and after all the hype it was inevitable that the ending would not satisfy everyone.

but since then execution has been, imho, abysmal, even in the context of the weird way hs does shit. tho i would probably be more willing to give hs^2 more benefit of the doubt (i sat through all of homestuck after all lmao) IF the writers weren't openly such jerks to fans on twitter, for being fans?

ANYWAY i am perfectly content treating everything act omega as the hussie-endorsed fanfic that it basically is and choosing to just not read it lmao. but i do feel bad seeing people get so (understandably) upset about it all. not holding my breath but i'd love to end up pleasantly surprised by how this go in the future.
