Over the time we'd been friends and roommates, I'd come to know SO much media because of her. I'm on the flip side of it though, because she cut contact with me. It was hard to look at any of it because of that, but also in a way I clung to all of it for the sake of nostalgia. Some books I purchased my own copies of just to keep the memories, even if I knew that reaching out was unhealthy and that we just weren't going to talk again. I got a warm feeling just re-engaging with that media, but also bittersweet.
Years later a mutual friend simply commented on a photo of us both on FB and it ignited a conversation, and on our end, all past things were worked out and forgiven. I can't assume anything about your situation or what is best, but I hope that something similarly good happens for you both if it turns out to be a positive thing. <3
