I still can't get over Crisis Core telling us that Sephiroth's hair smells of roses and vanilla. I can't walk into a candle or aromatherapy section of anything without seeing something labeled "Vanilla-Rose" and then...

It is SO SO good. I got the same kind of vibe when I read that Carrie Fisher said the man who played Tarkin smelled of lavender. Imagine, being Princess Leia, and on one of the worst days of your life... is that... is that the calming scent of lavender?

tbh I'm one of the few people that fucking love Genesis and yeah, that reactor scene was not so great.

I remember, years and years ago when Crisis Core was still relatively new, detailing out to a FF7 fangirl who really liked Genesis (or at least the idea of him anyway) why Genesis stuck out so badly while Angeal was a natural addition with his connection to Zack and the Buster Sword.

I don't remember the whole of my argument (beyond what OP mentions about Genesis popping up randomly and awkwardly like a mariachi band at a funeral, but I must have been convincing, since her response was "C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!"

It’s amazing how you can almost pin every writing problem of the compilation of FFVII on CC and Genesis.

There's a reason I just mentally erase Genesis and his awful poetry from my memory of those scenes and focus on literally everything else.
