i had my fun with this show but it certainly wasn't the best wrt pacing and narrative structure. which honestly i can take a silly plot bc i've enjoyed my fair share of c+k-dramas in my time, but man did the flashback part of this show test my patience something fierce, so much of those episodes felt like i was getting so much information thrown at me but most of it was pointless.

i haven't rolled with the rest of the fanbase in wangxian adoration either, for whatever reason they didn't click for me, instead i glommed onto xichen/jingunyao bc it's horribly tragic, awful, and makes every part of my heart hurt and i love it. but my smaller-ship woes won't be as bad as yours as mine isn't directly butting against the fandom OTP.

i dig the idea of yours though, but tbh i think i can roll with a fair few xueyang/other character ships simply bc i found him so fun.
