Some people find that the event that needs to be fixed, though.

I'm in a fandom where the juggernaut ship supplanted an earlier, much-beloved ship. The 'shippers of OTP 1 do not particularly like the ending, which gave a lot of fuel for shippers of OTP 2. Therefore, whether I like it or not, they write and tag their fic "fix-it." I get being annoyed with it, but at the end of the day you don't have to read things that are tagged with it. (And frankly, for those shippers, there is something that needs fixing.)
