Somehow, I think she means more she's looking for a guy with the sort of personality that wants a strong woman.

Unfortunately, in popular culture, all the men who actually DO want strong women tend to marry weak, woobie girls because that's what they're supposed to want. (So, we can look at this as a lesson in not settling for what you're supposed to want, but going out there and finding what you want.) I'm not surprised the OP couldn't think of a well-known strong woman and her lover that didn't involve the man cheating on someone else to be with her, because it's really just not that common.
