Y SO SRS OP? Even if you think it's stupid, THERE IS A GOLD MINE OF LULZ TO BE HAD if you just let yourself have fun with it.
And it is a SHONEN manga after all. So for it's genre, I would say it is "smart." Then again, maybe I am BLIND WITH MY LOVE for that silly series.

Take the vitriol with a grain of salt. Just because I cuss a lot (and I do mean a lot) doesn't mean I'm OMG SO ENRAGED.

I just talk like a sailor on shore leave.

I can't get past the sheer badness of it all to fin the lulz. I just, bleh. And it's swallowed like, all of my friends. Even my best friend who can't stand manga and anime and all that stuff. She adores it. And I'm just like... why??

Well, I still think it's McAmazing but I realize that it's not all that it's cracked up to be by the critics (and I also am aware I have poor taste lulz)

INORITE? My friends I love the series. The anime adoption was particularly special to us. I never laughed so hard at an anime in my life. "I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT."

C'mon! We loved it for what it was, which was pretty much nothing more than shounen drama/melodrama. We loved the characters and story, but I don't think we ever thought it was brilliant. Just fun.

YES, THE POTATO CHIP SCENE. It's like, THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SERIES. The overly dramatic shenanigans of Light are like delicious, delicious candy that I will never get tired of.
And of course, there's the ~*GRAND FINALE*~ which is also very hilarious.
