I really couldn't give a rats arse about twilight, But I have to say, to me the haters of it are comeing off more crazy and pathetic that anyone I've seen gushing about it.

Yeah, no kidding.

As for "I'm glad the movie sucked!": Frankly, I think it would have been cool if the screenwriter would have been able to take the book, remove the annoying and schmaltzy parts, and make it a good movie. And, btw, the movie being bad doesn't prove a damn thing. Plenty of shitty movies have been made from good source material (Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, for example), and good movies can be made from crappy sources (most people think the movie Jaws is loads better than the book).

This. Very much this. It's especially funny because I wasn't really interested in Twilight before, but all the hype (positive AND negative) has perked my interest -- and the mix of "I want to form my own opinion" and how severely bad the Twilight anti-fans are coming across, it's made me want to actually read the damn thing. Sob.
