And that, my friend, was sarcasm. :P

I'm sorry, but it's an automatic fail when using that word against ANY group of feminists, extreme or not. "Extreme" feminists, regardless of whether or not they burn their bras (WTF is wrong with that?), don't like a man opening a door for them (can someone point out a REAL LIFE example of this happening?), or are sexist (yes, a possibility) -- are nothing like Nazis. Period. Extremist feminists have never systematically rounded up a group of men and killed them because they were men to further the woman's cause.

And no, I don't think ZOMG YOU"RE THE BIGGEST ASSHOLE ON THE INTERNET for using that word, but really.

Thank you.

Okay, so maybe "feminazi" evolving into common-used slang on the Internet to mean "stereotypical proclaimed feminist who doesn't do much for women's rights except talk trash about how men are pigs" is now the new offensive. I understand that certain language and diction is needed depending on the occasion: "feminazi" for sarcasm, chatting with friends, but not in a women's rights group where it would make an uncomfortable stir. I use the f-word on the Internet and with close friends, but never with my parents or relatives because it's disrespectful. "Duh" could be a joke among a few close friends (Ex. Mimicking random fangirls. "LYKE DUH!!11!"), but would hurt certain others and make them feel terrible. Likewise, I never ever use racist or offensive derogatory language anytime or anywhere, such as the n-word, faggot, etc... because it's racist. It's unethical.

There actually have been reports made by several confused feminists who saw women refuse help by men and demand she should be treated as if he were opening the door for another man. While not 100% Nazi, that's true, they do share a rabid hatred against a certain group (in their case, men) and are bitter and spiteful against them, which is probably how the "nazi" part of "feminazi" turned up.

It's odd how people take certain words and adopt them for their own means. "Queer" and "gay" were derogatory, but some homosexual/bisexual men proudly call themselves "queer" or use "That's so gay" in casual conversation while others find it insensitive. I personally find it discomforting to refer to Native Americans as "Indians" (It brings back nasty images of Columbus and his abuse of them), yet it's still commonly used in text. Hm.

But thank you for not writing me off as a complete asshole, 'cause that's certainly not what I intended. :P

OKAY, the holding-doors-open thing, and most other "feminazi" behaviour, is simple, and I wish people would stop bringing it up.

Women don't object to men holding doors. Holding doors for approaching people is a common politeness, and that would be dumb.

Women object to when men fall over themselves to open doors because she's a woman, and try to paint themselves as noble gentlemen while expecting that she be grateful to him for some comman act of manners. They don't want a "thanks", they want her to notice how ~*~amazing~*~ he is being.

If you see a man complaining on the internet about SOME BITCH who gave him a dirty look instead of falling at his feet after opening a door, this is not a man who grasps the subtleties of human interaction. This is a man unaware that he was coming across as mad creepy. Before you take it as "damn feminazis!!", consider his motives, and if he is a well-adjusted person (hint: the answer will be "no")

Okay, I get what you mean. I always viewed the whole door-opening thing as taken for granted and part of normal manners. That it was just for etiquette and a simple thanks, instead of "ZOMG I'M AN AWESOME MANLY MAN BOW TO ME". I could see how someone would be irritated if that guy did it for his ego than just, you know, being nice. :/ ("I'll hold the peas for you, dear." "Thanks!" "..." "...What?" "Aren't you gonna say something? Like, oh you're so dashing or... a kiss maybe?" "It's just holding the peas, dear." "OMG MY PRIDE *emo*")

Ugh, I roll my eyes at men like that. Feel "persecuted"? Go to the Middle East and you'll see it. Oh, and as long as you still have power, why don't you do something for the people suffering under domestic abuse? We could use a big change over there RIGHT NOW.

I'll be careful with my language from now on. Especially since what I was talking about was agreeing with the secret maker and little to do with the broad topic of feminism. oO;;;

Extremist feminists have never systematically rounded up a group of men and killed them because they were men to further the woman's cause.

Not all Nazis did that, either.

It's about drawing a parallel to the frame of mind, not the specific actions. How is that not obvious?
