If I were to think of a good example of a strong female character, I'd say Yuna from FFX. Her thing wasn't being tomboyish. She wasn't super strong (purely speaking of strength, anyway), but she had resolve. She wasn't perfect, either, and when she was down the other people in the party helped to cheer her up.

I've always thought her black boots that kind of clash with her kimono-like dressed summed her up perfectly.

I think the secret OP was just pissed at how often females are written weakly.

I definitely have to agree that too many female characters get bashed as being Sues, though. All too often the male characters get off scott free. I gotta say, though, Bella seems to be an almost textbook perfect example of a Sue. That's just my thoughts on how she's written, though.
