Unfortunately, had to of known this was going to happen from the first season. The whole thing is that baby Yoda needs a mentor and that will have to be a Jedi.

I mean... how is this a surprise? It's like being surprised that - to pull from another secret in this batch - Fanstastic Beasts eventually has direct ties to Harry Potter.

Of course that's going to happen when they're set in the same universe.

Yeah, I thought it would be a totally new story too and am disappointed in how fan service-y its supposedly going to be. I'll still watch tho, lol.

Co-signed. The Star Wars galaxy is huge sandbox of rich mythology; hundreds of species, cultures, planets, with an established expanded universe of tons of cool characters, but by all means let’s stay wedged up The Skywalkers’ asses. It’s a crutch and it’s boring. The further you can get from established storylines, the better.

Are they bringing in any of the Skywalkers? The only rumor I remember seeing (though to be fair, I haven't made any particular effort to follow speculation/spoilers) was that Ahsoka was going to make an appearance.

I guess you could argue Skywalkers are still involved then considering her relationship to Anakin but still...

Are we talking "established characters" from the live-action theatrically-released movies that everyone and their grandma saw, or "established characters" from cartoons that not nearly as many people watched or books that not nearly as many people read?
