I tell my Outlander loving friends that the series just doesn't sound like something I would enjoy.

What I'm not telling them is that I've read the Lord John books three years ago and am enjoying my headcanon of John (FINALLY) getting over Jamie (so they can be best friends without all the annoying pining) and him regularly visiting Stephan von Namtzen in Germany with his puppy.
(Seriously, WHY did Diana Gabaldon totally drop von Namtzen after he gave John that puppy? I'm quite annoyed by this! ALSO he's STILL not over Jamie in current canon? URGH, why?)

I keep trying to get into that series because everyone is so pretty. I can never get past season 1, though. I don't like Jamie, and I have issues rooting for a relationship based on an affair. I get that she had to marry him while she was in the past, but she chose to leave her husband and go back to the past. That's when the series stops working for me.
