I personally love it for nostalgia. I had fun watching the game, spendibg time with friends/cousins/brother bonding over the game, and while I never delved into the fandom, it was also inspring artistically and made me look into game design (thnx Square Enix). I look back on it fondly. Ut got me into Utada Hikaru!!! I mean, I certainly was confused plotwise a frw rimes, like wtf is even going on, why. But I still love them!

At this point, i have forgotten what your main beef was, but eh. As long as it's a side eye, and not a complete dismissal of a oerson's taste (which is subjective anyway)...
