I'm going to make coasters for my friends -- watercolor on wood. My issue is that I wabt it to look great, and i know if i keep practicing etc. eventuakly it will be, but it will take two years to get to my goal :c I just want to give in and do it! But watercolor ground isn't cheap and I still have to find a good waterproof & heat resistant sealant. I was thinking liquitex and then a spray...

Any crafters have any suggestions?

Bonus: I was thinking of pressing flowers or adding newsprint to layer on the drawings (something between art nouveau and belle epoque women & flowers)
