That would have been SO much cooler that what we got.

As it I guess stands our heroes killed an entire planet's worth of brainwashed slaves. Which is kind of messed up considering Finn's whole existence predicates the idea that these people can be freed and helped. Would have preferred it if either they killed the undead former imperial loyalists OR the fleet just held the gate while Rey killed the Emperor and then Finn got to make some cheesy broadcast to all the ships about freedom and choice and how they could make a totally bitchin' merchant navy for the New New NEW Republic.

But, ya know, 'splosions.
