AYRT—I think as, I guess, payment for the food they ate? Idk, it was weird. Unemployment is up to 40% in some neighborhoods around here; someone may have just been really really hungry. Dunno why they let the hens out though, unless they were looking for more eggs or thinking of stealing a hen to eat (I’m really glad they didn’t, they are pets and also today was their third birthday except for the head hen who is turning nine tomorrow.) Neither my roommate nor I eat meat so if they were hoping for some there is none unless they killed it themselves.
