No media is devoid of politics. The question is, does the politics have anything to do with the story? Or is merely shoved in there to virtue signal to people like you?

I mean, I'll give Ancillary Justice credit: it's shtick (the character saw everyone as female) was relevant to the story. It was there for a reason, so it didn't bother me - it was just part of the worldbuilding. I just found the plot utterly boring.

NAYRT sometimes, people exist who are different from you, and that is just how they are. That IS the story.

If every lead character is a straight white man, that is extremely political.
