I think the thing that most people don't get about the "Twilight mom" type is that they're living their own teenage fantasy. You think they're fantasising about Edward falling in love with a 40 year old mom? In their fantasies they're BELLA. Who is 17. I don't see why this isn't obvious to everyone.

Exactly. I was never really into Twilight but for every older woman I know who was, it was about nostalgia for teenage romance.

Every older person has memories of being a teenager, after all. I think a lot of really young people either forget that or don't really understand it.

Their fixation on Robert Pattinson was still creepy though! It's one thing to be way into Twilight and imagining yourself in Bella's place -- it's something else to take that into real life and project it onto the actor.
