That is really creepy and I'm sorry it happened to you! Not that it makes it right, but it almost seems like someone who had no food broke in and tried to make up for it by leaving things a little more organized before they left? IDK if it's guilt or what. If food was the main factor and expensive things were left untouched, it was probably more about their own survival.

I hope it doesn't happen to you again. *hugs*
