But her productivity isn't a positive thing, is it? The only "productive" thing she does is mopping the floor each morning, the rest is desperate busywork. She isn't doing anything "useful" and she's not having fun, she's trying to stay sane by distracting herself from her situation. You're probably doing the same thing, just in a different way, in your way.

Stop binge-watching shows all day every day and you'll stop feeling guilty in no time.

Doesn't Rapunzel get dissatisfied despite doing all these awesome, creative things? You can be productive during quarantine and still get burned out.

You heard it so many times yet you missed the part where she still doesn't feel fulfilled doing all those productive activities? The title of the song is literally asking when will her life begin.

Well, Rapunzel wasn't dealing with the emotional and mental fallout of a pandemic.

She had problems too you know. Like being isolated from the world since the beginning of her life.
Rather than that, I think OP needs to be reminded that she's a Disney character. Either get better hobbies or stop giving a fuck, but don't blame your guiltiness on a cartoon.

The whole point of the song is that everything she’s doing feels like pointless busywork because she can’t ever leave.

Honestly, my problem with trying to be productive before I had to go back to work (and that is another shitshow because cases are still rising here and will rise faster as more stuff opens) is that I didn’t know how long I would be at home, or if I would have a job afterwards, aside from worrying about the pandemic and disease itself.

I am horrible at uncertainty and structuring my own time without routines. I did some ambitious stuff the first couple of weeks that was definitely frantic distraction, and then just watched old movies most of the day for the next week and a half until I was sent back to work and panicked about that.

If I knew I wouldn’t catch COVID, and no one I knew would, and I would still have a job afterwards, and had a month off work with pay, I would enjoy myself way more.

As a latchkey kid of the early 90’s, this song speaks to me more than any other Disney song. I only wish I’d heard it then, or had the means to do half of the things she mentions. I would have been a more accomplished adult if I’d spent my youth learning how to paint or sew or make candles instead of listening to my mom’s CDs and mainlining Nickelodeon.
