I have never heard anyone go, "mmmmm the grey stuff".

(Anonymous) 2020-06-06 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess you've never hung out with zombies

(Anonymous) 2020-06-06 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL!

Weird that they went with grey to begin with. It's straight up the most unappealing food color aside from blue.

I assumed the "gray stuff" was foie gras, but they could have called it some other single-syllable color, such as "beige stuff" or "tan stuff."

there are a few incredibly specific 2d-animated substances that struck me enough to still think of them to this day in a way that's probably akin to "satisfying" video compilations of today.

one was the animated lava in fantasia. one is the leaves the dino kids eat in the land before time. and another is definite this junk oliver eats out of that fancy ass bowl lmao.

the food in Spirited Away looked yummers

(Anonymous) 2020-06-06 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? That eating scene is disturbing to me and the food is so greasy looking.

well the part where they turned into pigs and the way they were eating was obviously disturbing but I thought the food itself looked good.

100% agree, but I love all of Miyazaki's food...

Yeah the "tree stars" (leaves) seemed to have left that impression on a lot of people. Some even thinking, "I won't do it, but I'd be tempted to try one."

Agreed that Oliver's food looked delicious. Weird thing to think about cat food.

(Anonymous) 2020-06-07 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing the gray stuff's supposed to be pâté of some variety, so how delicious it actually is probably depends a lot on your feelings on organ meats.

i’ve never really thought about they grey stuff, but the food from Oliver always looked like a chocolate mousse with chocolate chips, like the one they used to serve at Pizza Hut. Which screams “You’re going to give that poor kitty a heart attack”. I, of course, wanjted to face plant into it.
